Employees generally want to grow.  At least most to at least.  Professional growth can take on many different forms but for most employees it is a must have.  Growth tends to be at the heart of any employee retention strategy.

Professional growth is the most important reason to stay in an organization for many people.  Growth creates challenges and keeps people engaged and excited about the work they do.  This is particularly the case for the millennial generation. 

It is the biggest challenge that organizations face…keeping them growing and challenged in  flatter organizations with a slower economy than in the past.  Organizations have to get creative to come up with solutions to this issue or face a revolving door with the millennial generation.
