This employee retention speaker and employee retention author believes that unless you are unable to return to work for health reason, now is the time to get HIGHLY visible as a member of senior leadership.  When you do, now is the time to really ramp up your visibility.  Be safe and take the precautions that most organizations I work with have taken to ensure safety but BE VISIBLE.  When you are being visible, talk to your people to refamiliarize yourself with them.  Let them talk to you about what their experience was like on four months of furlough.  They need that.  Coming from a senior leadership it means a lot that you are willing to take the time.  Besides, it keeps you in tough with your workforce and what they are thinking.

Welcome people back into the organization in some way.  It’s a lot tougher to have food gatherings and the things we did prior but now is the time to get creative.  People need to know that you are glad to have them back.  This pandemic has been one of the toughest events that your people have ever gone through…particularly if they are your young people.

In some cases, this employee retention trainer knows that there will be residual issues that your EAP (Employee Assistance Program) can be helpful dealing with.  Publicize that you have an EAP and what service they provide.  Talking to your people about this sends the message that you are in tune with what they have gone through and still may be going through.  That sends a powerful message that you Care!

Senior Leadership needs to lead the charge on the return to work of your people.  This is all part of your retention strategies.  Lead with visibility, caring and communication.  The last thing you want is to have the Covid-19 virus destroy the community in your organization you spent years building.  Remember…Give Your Employees C.R.A.P.®  (Caring, Respect, Appreciation and Praise)  Why?  Because C.R.A.P.
