This was an incredible group of executives who really get it.  They understood that culture drives results and it was evident by some of the things that they were doing to help their employees deal with the issues of working with the Covid-19 virus that is impacting us.  One CEO brought up that he has a Zoom call EVERY morning with his direct leadership team and the level below them.  The thing he emphasizes every morning to his team is that they have to be cheerleaders and that one of their main functions is to keep morale up.   They have recognized the pandemic’s impact on their employees in so many ways.  It’s starting to wear on their people.  This CEO recognized that his leadership team can play a big role in keeping people’s spirits up.

These CEO’s are smart.  They see the big picture which is what a CEO needs to do.  They know they need to lead strategically.  They know that their employee retention strategies are critical and they know employee retention has not gone away as a major business challenge.  It’s like an iceberg lurking below the surface of the water.  As the economy ticks up, much of the pent-up demand to change jobs will come to the forefront and people will start to move.  By helping your people in their time of need…when morale is down…your people will remember that.  People talk to their friends in social settings and this employee retention trainer knows that when they do, work is often a topic of discussion and how they are being treated by their employer comes up in the discussion.  You want YOUR people talking about how YOUR leadership team cares about them…the “C” in C.R.A.P. (Caring, Respect, Appreciations and Praise)

If, as an organization, you aren’t out their cheerleading your people on during these tough times, this employee recruitment expert will tell you, you are setting yourself up for some heavy employee turnover when things turn around in the economy.  Get ahead of it.  Make sure your leadership team is listening, encouraging and talking to your people.  Now is a time of need for your employees.  Be there in their time of need.  If you aren’t cheerleading…now is the time to start!
